Quite simply in the Australian environment it is a smart option. The ceramic spheres used in Alliance HRC are similar to that used in the space shuttle tiles. The ceramic spheres are hollow & extremely heat resistant & reflective. To be effective Alliance HRC needs to be applied at a minimum of 2m²/ltr giving a dry film build of 300 microns. At this level the hollow spheres become highly efficient at heat dissipation & reflection.

Surface Preparation

Use a water blaster to remove all debris such as loose & chalky paint, mould, dirt & the weathered surface layer of the roof, particularly for tiled roofs.
Fibro roofs that are not allowed to be water blasted should be treated with Alliance Mould Destroyer & then scrubbed off with a stiff bristle broom with hosing.

Application

Apply 2 coats at 4m²/ltr using an airless spray gun giving a total of 2m²/ltr & a dry film build of 300 micron. The finish of Alliance HRC is of a matt gloss level so if a higher gloss is desired it can be overcoated with an Alliance clear or coloured gloss or semi-gloss topcoat. This will not affect the thermal resistance.
